This Usher's Whiskey Ball Match Stand is circa 1900 ceramic ball match stand made in England for Raphael Tuck & Sons, London, and advertising "Usher's Whiskey". It features a soldier on one side artist signed- "R. Caton Woodville, 1899" with the caption- " A Gentleman In Karki". The other side has a poem- "The Absent Minded Begger" by Rudyard Kipling. It measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter, by 2 1/2 inches high. There are 2 small hairline cracks at the rim of the opening.
